Block Ape Scissors GOD mode (v1)
Block Ape Scissors is a version of rock, paper, scissors which incorporates a secondary layer consisting of power moves of play to enable diversity, dynamic gameplay and provide a skill based element for players. The Battle Mode is a head to head PVP game, with points being awarded or health adjustments being the outcome for the winning moves. In all modes currently, the winner of the match is determined based on the player winning the majority of game cycles
The following table denotes all terms relevant to BAS with an explanation for each
❖ The game has an opening phase with three movements
❖ Players open the game with core moves only (Rock, Paper or Scissors)
❖ Players generate power moves based on the outcomes of their movements
❖ Players have health bars with 10 points of health
❖ Winning with a core move by default earns an alpha, though refer to Table 3 for full details
❖ Losing with a core move by default earns a wild, though refer to Table 3 for full details
❖ Playing wild vs core move loses and destroys the wild. #5 outcome applies for the opponent
❖ Accrual of wilds & alphas to be persistent across rounds
❖ Health potions - restore 2 points of health - can be played anytime
❖ Amount of alphas and wilds available to each player shown to each
❖ Wild beat alpha, alpha beats core moves, core moves beat a wild as per table 2
❖ Tied rounds do not provide a win for either ape
❖ Winner is first to 3 remove all health from their opponent 3 times (win 3 rounds)
❖ Players may ‘offer tribute’ of 2 wilds or 3 alphas for the chance to earn a health potion if their winning move is successful. If not, the tribute is consumed by the gods.
❖ Players that win 3 moves in a row under any condition will receive a health potion
❖ Randomised conditions (Influences/Phases) apply different outcomes per alpha or wild used. Refer Table 4 for more details.
Sun Phase - Influenced by the Egyptian Sun God, Ra. The influence is powerful, destructive and cunning.
Water Phase - Influenced by the Greek God of the Sea, Poseidon and the Greek God of Healing, Apollo. The influence is regenerative, transformational and deflective.
Moon Phase - Influenced by Chinese goddess of the Moon, Chang E. The influence is clever, resourceful and precise.
Earth Phase - Influenced by the earth God, Gaia. The influence is reflective, transformative and gifted.
